For two hours, explore 50+ acres of private and protected rainforest beginning at your doorstep. Daniel Solis and a local guide will meet and exclusively guide you through the real and raw jungle, including off-trail. Although this trek is intense, it can be somewhat customized for those with mobility challenges and/or preferences, including younger or older persons. Daniel is able to assist in the tracking of specific species. Our most popular excursion, ideal for photographers, herpers and adventurers. Age 5+.
For those with significant mobility concerns, we recommend the Night Hike Lite -- a more relaxed version of this experience.
Please note we recommend participants carry sufficient drinking water, flashlights and all-natural bug spray. Hiking boots and/or rubber rain boots are required as you may traverse rugged, steep and/or muddy terrain, including shallow streams. Please click here to complete the waiver ahead of this activity.
A one-hour night walk adapted for those with mobility issues, and/or desiring a less intense experience. Easily walk on level terrain as you seek and spot Costa Rican creatures up close: particularly frogs, and possibly a caiman. A shorter, more mild style of the two-hour Night Hike, this experience borders preserved, primary jungle and explores a pond area. Led by Daniel Solis and a local guide. Age 4+.
Please note we recommend participants carry sufficient drinking water, flashlights and all-natural bug spray. Hiking boots and/or rubber rain boots are highly recommended, as terrain may be wet or muddy at times. Please click here to complete the waiver ahead of this activity.

You’ll also learn the fundamentals of moving safely through dense jungle and using a machete correctly. It’s an engaging adventure that connects you to the rainforest and teaches you the basic skills for operating in a complex and challenging environment.
Good physical fitness is required, particularly the ability to walk for two hours unassisted in high humidity and across complex and rugged terrain. Age 10+.

We are active in animal rescue efforts in the local community. We often foster dogs and have many of our own! Should you desire a canine companion, we will gladly deliver one of our well-behaved dogs to your Bungalow leashed up and ready to go.
Dogs are not allowed off-leash and/or in the jungle; we therefore recommend strolling the paths on-property or following the main road by taking a left at the black entrance gates. It is not unusual to spot monkeys there! This activity is complimentary and there is no age requirement.
Please note we recommend participants carry sufficient drinking water for themselves and the dog, flashlights if dark, all-natural bug spray and appropriate footwear. Please click here to complete the waiver ahead of this activity.
